Taizé Service

Taizé is a simple, informal, peaceful style of meditative prayer. You will find that the style and flow of this service touches your heart as well as your mind. It includes time to be quiet, time to listen to scripture and contemporary spiritual writers, time to sing contemporary chants and hymns, time to pray, even time to be involved if you wish. Come as you are. All you need do is be open to the blessings the Spirit wishes to share with you.

Taizé is held the first Saturday of each month at 6:00 pm in the small chapel of St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Road, Sarasota, Fl. 34242

Wednesday Evening Prayer and Potluck

Evening prayer & potluck ministry convenes at 5:30 pm Wednesdays in the Parish Hall for a half-hour restorative service followed by a potluck dinner to which we all contribute. Services are lay-led other than the first Wednesday of the month eucharist which is led by a priest.

All are heartily invited to join us for our year-round worship and fellowship gatherings. We are drawn together by a desire to seek peace and renewed purpose through commune with God, Christ and one another.

Ash Wednesday - Ashes to Go

Ashes to Go, the Episcopal Church’s popular Ash Wednesday takes the Church out to the community. It began over a decade ago spreading quickly throughout the United States. Clergy across the country that day greet folks on freezing commuter train platforms and chilly street corners. However our lucky clergy, since Ash Wednesday 2017, stroll a few hundred feet from the St. Boniface campus to the magnificent sun, sand and sea of Siesta Public Beach. Dressing casually (while still recognizable,) we meet both the curious and fellow Christians from all denominations. Often we will hear, “Oh yeah, that is today, isn’t it!” We offer to pray with them and trace a cross of ash on their foreheads. We remind them that they are loved by God, “that they are dust…,”and we wish them holy Lent. From 12 noon until 2pm each Ash Wednesday, we will engage with close to 250 folk who all respond with gratitude. It’s a holy and fun time!
