Faith Community Nurse

This pastoral and wellness ministry centers on promoting wholeness of body, mind and spirit. The philosophy of the Faith Community Nurse is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition and historic practice of professional nursing, and is consistent with the basic assumptions of many faiths: we care for self and others as an expression of God’s love. It is a new specialty, not a new concept.
 

Faith Community Nursing is recognized by the American Nurses Association, as a specialty practice that combines professional nursing and health ministry. The FCN acts as a health advocate, heath educator, health counselor and referral agent.She does not give injections, change dressings, drive people to appointments or provide other hands-on care.
