Servant Ministry Committee (formerly Congregational Team Building Committee)

The people of Boniface are on a mission to realize our vision. Our Mission Statement is this: We are a joyful and inclusive Christian community. Our mission is to live and reflect God’s love through worship, teaching, healing, and outreach to all creation. Our Vision Statement proclaims: St. Boniface Episcopal Church will be a community that transforms the greater community through action and unconditional love.

The Servant Ministry Committee exists to educate, equip, encourage and empower the people of Boniface to achieve our mission and realize our vision. Our faith calls us to love and serve God and all God’s creation. Each of us are called to serve as best we can.

Objectives Achieved:

• Clergy continue to regularly emphasize in their homilies the Strategic Plan for Boniface, our mission/vision/values, and the ministry of each Christian to give of their Time, Talents, and Treasure to God’s redeeming work in the world.
• Ministry minutes are integrated in services regularly, allowing outside organizations to share progress, thank the congregation, and have a forum to request needs.
• Planned, advertised, and conducted a well-attended Festival of Service in January 2024, supported by the Grants & Outreach Committee and the Hospitality and Welcome Committee.
• Planned and prepared a program on Discerning Spiritual Gifts to be presented on Saturday, February 24 by a guest speaker, and a four week Servant Ministry Leadership course beginning on Sunday, February 25 With a guest speaker and continuing the next three Sundays following 10 AM service as a Lenten program and discipline.

Next Steps:

• Continue to plan, develop, and promote servant ministry and servant leadership becoming an integral part of Boniface and our congregational DNA.
• Explore how we as servant ministers can serve members of the Boniface congregation and coordinate efforts of our various ministries and committees to ensure that, as best we can, the needs of Boniface parishioners are met.
• Explore how we as servant ministers can assist in God’s work in the world through our time, talent, and treasure.
• Continue to explore and promote the cooperation of Strategic Planning Committees and other parish committees and ministries to best serve within and without our congregation.
