St. Boniface Youth have been traveling to Group Cares (formerly Group Workcamps) misisons since 2005. We have been to Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, West Virginia, Connecticut, New York and New Hampshire.
These workcamps gather students from all over the country and beyond- like Hawaii and Japan!! Kids live together in a large school building and volunteer doing home repair projects in the local community.
It's a great way to have fun with new friends and serve God at the same time!
Students must have completed 6th grade to be eligible for the trip.
The camp fee is $400 per person. We sometimes drive rental vans, or fly to our destination. Transportation, food and material costs roughly add up to another $600. Students may also bring spending money and money to contribute to a gift for the family they are serving.
Parents are asked to pay $250 of these costs, and provide snack/entertainment money for the trip.
Our youth raise most of the travel funds by selling beach parking spaces in the St. Boniface parking lot on weekends during the tourist season. (Feb-May)
This summer July 14 - July 21, 2012 we are going to Red Lake, Minnesota to volunteer on the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Reservation!! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join us!!
