It is with great pleasure that the Saint Boniface Search Committee officially announces the calling of a new Rector. The calling is posted here on our web site and the site of the Diocese of Southwest Florida, along with the appropriate documents and instructions for application. The Search Committee is also advertising the calling in journals and newsletters that reach clergy across the country. Members of the Saint Boniface Parish are encouraged to send recommendations of potential applicants, which can be mailed to the Saint Boniface office, or e-mailed to search@bonifacechurch.org.
About 100 clergy are expected to apply, and the committee will carefully evaluate each application kit before moving candidates forward in the process. Initial application kits will be accepted until May 1st, at which time the Search Committee will select 40 or 50 of the most qualified applicants to move forward in the process. A short list of the remaining applicants will be developed through evaluation of additional application documents, recorded sermons, telephone interviews, site visits, face-to-face interviews, and finally a visit to Saint Boniface. One final candidate will be presented to the vestry, and, if accepted, will be offered the position of Rector. The committee hopes to complete the search by the end of the year, but also recognizes the necessity to remain flexible in order to achieve the best outcome.
Any member of the Search Committee is available to applicants and parishioners for questions or discussion about the calling process. However, search committee members are committed to complete confidentiality regarding any information about specific applicants. The names and contact information of Search Committee members are listed to the right.
We ask for God's guidance and the presence of the Holy Spirit as we call a rector for Saint Boniface.
Doug Francis, Chair, Saint Boniface Search Committee
