SAINT BONIFACE FOUNDATION FOR OUTREACH GRANTS

Since its inception in 1995 the Saint Boniface Foundation for Outreach has played an important role in the good works we accomplish in Christ’s name.  Grants awarded through the Foundation have allowed this parish to reach people and projects in our community and far beyond who are working to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, take care of the sick, and visit those in prison.

To further the ministry of Christ in the world, the Grants Committee identifies individuals or organizations that are working to improve the lives of those in need. Committee members develop ideas and seek project suggestions from parishioners, as well as research proposals submitted for consideration. Applications are reviewed April 1 and October 1. Grants typically run between $1,000 and $5,000. Since its inception in 1995, the Committee has made more than $400,000 in grants for local and global projects.

Grants are funded from the Foundation, and the Foundation is funded from bequests and gifts. To learn more about grants contact Becky Westbrook (941-371-2655 or via email
). To learn more about supporting the Foundation for Outreach contact Betsie Danner (941-349-5616 x318 or via

Note for 2009:  Unfortunately the economic situation does not enable us to consider any new grants this year.  We hope to take applications again in early 2010.

BACKPACKS PACK SUPPORT
Backpacks - 2010.2Our July Giving Tree supported Healthy Families, a program of the Florida Center for Child and Family Development, working to stem abuse and neglect in at-risk families in our community.  We collected supply-filled backpacks --70 of them!-- for kindergarteners in the program as they headed off to their first day of school.  Click here to read a thank you letter from the Florida Center's President , and here to read a letter from Healthy Families' Vice President.
