KNITTED PRAYERS OF HEALING

The St. Boniface Prayer Shawl Ministry has prayer shawls (for both men and women), lap blankets and chemo caps that have been knitted with continual prayers for their recipients and blessed by our clergy. These "knitted works of love" are for those in need of prayerful healing.  If you or someone you know might find comfort from one of these items, please contactMeg Larrabee (941-923-2062) to make arrangements for the delivery of one of these items.

THE HEALING MISSION

The Healing Mission is a place of quiet prayer and healing. The primary work of the Mission volunteers is to be in the presence of God with a visitor, who comes seeking healing in body, mind or spirit.

FAITH COMMUNITY NURSE   This wellness ministry centers on promoting wholeness of body, mind and spirit.  The philosophy of the Faith Community Nurse is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition and historic practice of professional nursing, and is consistent with the basic assumptions of many faiths:  we care for self and others as an expression of God’s love.  It is a new specialty, not a new concept.

Faith Community Nursing is a recognized specialty practice that combines professional nursing and health ministry.  The FCN acts as a health advocate, heath educator, health counselor and referral agent.  She does not give injections, change dressings, drive people to appointments or provide other hands-on care.
