HEALING MINISTRIES
Through our active and diverse healing ministries at Saint Boniface we reach out to those in difficult times, emotionally or spiritually, and to those who are home- or hospital-bound. We welcome your involvement! See the ministries and groups below. For personal contact information, consult your parish directory.
COUNSELING CENTER
The Counseling Center at Saint Boniface is staffed by certified, licensed professionals skilled in family and individual therapy. Confidentiality is maintained, and financial assistance is available. Call 349-5616 x352 for appointments or information.
HEALING MISSION
The Healing Mission is a place on the Boniface campus for quiet prayer and healing of body, mind, or spirit. It is open to parishioners as well as members of the community at no charge. It is staffed by trained volunteers whose goal is to be in the presence of God with their visitors. Appointments are on the half hour. Call 349-5616 x335 and leave your name for an appointment. Click here for more information and the history of the Healing Mission at Saint Boniface.
HOSPITAL FLOWERS
Teams of volunteers, rotating monthly, carry small arrangements of Sunday flowers to parishioners in the hospital. Contact Evelyn Ferguson or contact the church office via email.
MEDITATION GROUP
This group practices silent meditation preceded by listening to tapes of John Main, Benedictine monk and internationally renowned Christian meditation teacher. The group meets November through April. For information contact Merrill Kaegi between November and April or contact the church office via email.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Our LEMs are parishioners who are charged at the altar at the end of Sunday services, and receive the small black boxes which contain the sacrament. These trained volunteers carry the sacrament to parishioners who are in the hospital or at home, and are otherwise unable to receive communion at church. Lay Eucharistic Minister visits ensure that, "We who are many are one body because we all share one bread, one cup." Contact Andi Taylor, Pastoral Care Director, at 349-5616 x313 or via email.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM
Our Pastoral Care Team Visitors regularly visit parishioners who are homebound or in the hospital. Their visits keep these parishioners connected with our parish community, and keep staff aware of pastoral concerns. Strict confidentiality is maintained. The volunteers meet for supervision/ education. Call Andi Taylor (349-5616 x313) or via email.
PRAYER GROUP
The Prayer Group includes men and women devoted to the practice of intercessory prayer, contemplation and meditation. Their weekly meetings include each of these three elements, as they review the weekly list of those who have asked for prayer, practice a silent prayer of the heart, and study and discuss a chosen book or scripture. They commit to pray each day for those in need and for problems in the world. Members meet after attending the Thursday Healing Service and Eucharist at 10:00am. All are welcome to join the group. Call Emily Danner or contact the church office via email.
